Ennis-London finishes second in Athens

World Championships 100m hurdles silver medallist Delloreen Ennis-London was a second place finisher at the Athens Super Grand Prix in Greece on July 3, 2006. 
 
The 31-year-old Ennis-London captured the silver medal with her 12.81 seconds run, the second best time of the season for the former National champion.  German Kristen Bolm won the event in 12.69 seconds while Americans Lolo Jones and Jenny Adams were third and fourth respectively, both getting across the line in 12.83.
 
In the women's 800m, national champion Kenia Sinclair, finished fifth in 1:58.38 , beaten by Russian Olga Kotlyarova who won the event in 1:57.86.  Tetyana Petlyuk of Ukraine (1:57.93) and Cuban Zulia Calatayud (1:57.94) were second and third respectively. 
 
Jamaica's World champion Trecia Smith finished fifth in the women's triple jump with a leap of 14.47m, a season best for the Sportswoman of the Year.  Olympic champion Tatyana Lebedeva (15.23m) and Anna Pyatykh (15.17m), both of Russia, finished first and second respectively.
 
Dwight Thomas, like Smith and Ennis-London who all missed the National Championships, finished seventh in the men's 100m in 10.22 seconds.  Francis Obikwelu of Portugal won the event in 10.02 ahead of Trinidadian Marc Buns (10.13).
