JAAA Windalco Cross Country Series

Kemoy Campbel finishing at the 2007 Reggae Marathon/Half Marathon

Kemoy Campbell, Rupert Green and Tanice Barnett, all remain undefeated after two races in the JAAA/Windalco 3 race Cross-country series.

In the Junior Boys Category, Campbell is on 22 points followed by Jermaine Blake on 16 points, while Rupert Green is on 22 points followed by Kirk Brown & Shawn Pitter, both on 16 points, in the Senior Men category.

For the Senior women’s category, Tanice Barnett is on 22 points followed by Petrona McClymont on 18 points. Amoya Bailey leads the Junior girls on 20 points followed by Patricia Powell on 16.

The third and final event in the series will take place this Sunday January 20, at the Windalco, Kirkvine Sports Complex, starting at 9:00 am.

Winners in the series will receive trophies, gifts and cash prizes compliments of Pepsi/Gatorade.

Race Organizer, Alfred “Frano” Francis notes that intent of the series, “ is to build a Cross Country calendar similar to the fantastic local road racing calendar which now exists. More importantly, “he adds, “is to prepare Jamaica’s team for the 2008 NACAC Cross Country Championship in Clermont Florida in March 2008. “
