Vice President – Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association
Miss Grace Jackson – The
1988 Olympics 200m silver medalist is the Manager, Student Services for
Sports at the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica.
As President of the
Jamaica Intercollegiate Sports Association (responsible for sports in
Jamaican Colleges), a position she has held since 2001, she will bring
this experience to the performance of her responsibility for
“competitions” in Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association Limited.
Trained in Accounts, and
Computer Science at the Post Graduate Level, the three time Olympian was
awarded a National Honour - “Order of Distinction” by the Jamaica
Government for her contribution to Sports.

DR.
WARREN BLAKE
2nd Vice President -
Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association Limited
Serving for the 2nd
Consecutive term on the Executive of the Jamaica Amateur Athletic
Association Limited, Dr. Blake is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and a
founding member of the Jamaica Sports Medicine Association.
He has travelled as team
doctor with National Teams to major track and field events including the
2004 Olympics.
A Jamaican
representative in Pistol Shooting, Dr. Blake sees to the general medical
responsibilities of the Association's operations with emphasis on doping
control.

MISS
VILMA CHARLTON
3rd Vice President-
Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association Limited
A three time Olympian –
1964 – 72, Miss Charlton is the Physical Education Lecturer, University
of the West Indies, Insititute of Education, Mona Campus, Jamaica. The
holder of a B.Sc in Physical Education and MA in Education from
Pepperdine University, USA, Miss Charlton is the President of the
Olympians Association of Jamaica.
An IAAF official 's
Level 1 Lecturer, Miss Charlton has 'training' as one of her
responsibilities in the JAAA Limited.
She was featured in the 1969 'Who's Who'
among Colleges and Universities, USA, and was in 2004 awarded the 'Order of
Distinction” by the Jamaica Government for her contribution to track and
field athletics.

DR.
WINSTON DAWES
4th – Vice President
Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association
Dr. Winston Dawes, a
longstanding medical practitioner, holds many prominent positions in
Jamaica's National Life.
He is the Chief Medical
Officer at the May Pen Regional Hospital, Jamaica, Chairman of the
Institute of Sports Limited, Chairman of the G. C. Foster College of
Physical Education and Sports, Jamaica. He is also the President of the
Sports Medicine Association of Jamaica.
A former President of
the Jamaica Football Federation and team doctor to National football and
track and field teams, Dr. Dawes has the requisite skills to make a
significant contribution in his capacity as a Vice President of the JAAA
Limited.
Dr. Dawes has general
medical responsibilities with emphasis on sports medicine as his main
function in the Association.
He was honoured 'Order
of Distinction' by the Government of Jamaica for his contribution to
sports.

MR. GARTH GAYLE
Honorary Secretary –
Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association Limited
Serving a second
consecutive term as Honorary Secretary of the JAAA Limited, Mr. Gayle is
a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Sports Department at Excelsior
Community College in Kingston, Jamaica.
An External Assessor for
the Joint Board of Teacher Education (in Physical Education), Mr Gayle
holds a M.Sc in Education and is an IAAF Level II trained official.
He is fully engaged as a
meeting official with responsibility for Hy-Tec Meet Manager/Finish Lynx
Photo Finish Systems.

MRS. MARIE TAVARES
Assistant Secretary –
Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association Limited
A professional Travel
Consultant, Mrs. Tavares attended Briarcliff College in upstate New York
and University of the Americas in Mexico. Recently employed to the
Institute of Sports as an International Relations Co-ordinator, Mrs.
Tavares brings to her executive position in the JAAA Limited her
expertise in team management, international travel and athletes affairs.
Since 1994, she has been
part of the management Teams to Junior and Senior Championships
including the World Championships and the Olympics.

MISS CAROL LONG
Director of the Bureau
Records – Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association Limited
A 1st time serving
member of the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association Limited, Mrs. Long is
a lecturer in Physical Education and Movement at the Shortwood Teachers
College in Kingston, Jamaica.
In addition to her
position of Director of the Bureau of Records (posting and filing data
on athletes performances), she is a member of the Selection Committee
and a Co-ordinator of the Youth Development Programme for the junior
athletes.
As Chief Recorder for
the major Track and Field meets in Jamaica, this provides a convenient
synergy with her post of Director of the Bureau of Records.
Trained in early
Childhood Education and as a level I Coach in track and field athletics,
Mrs. Long has been part of the management team for junior track and
field teams representing Jamaica.

MR.
LUDLOW WATTS
Treasurer – Jamaica
Amateur Athletic Association Limited
A
career Banker in Corporate and Commercial Banking, Mr. Watts is serving
his second term as Treasurer of the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association
Limited.
Educated to Post
graduate level majoring in Marketing and Finance, his main
responsibility is that of the day to day management of the Financial
affairs and the investment of the Association's financial resources.
His involvement with the
Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association commenced in 1985, and since 1996
he has held the post of 'Chief Starter' officiating in that capacity at
major local and international meets. These include the IAAF World Junior
Championships in 1992, and at the Central America and
Caribbean Championships in 2003.

CLIVE WALTERS
Executive Member –
Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association
A Business Strategist –
Sports and Entertainment at Cable and Wireless Jamaica Limited, Mr.
Walters is serving his 1st term on the executive of the JAAA Limited.
Trained as a Physical
Education Teacher and IAAF Level 3 Coach, Mr. Walters is a member of the
selection Panel of the JAAA Limited. He is a Past President of the
Jamaica Track and Field Coaches Association.

MR.
ALFRED FRANCIS
Managing Director of the
Kingston base The Art Printery, since 1983, Mr. Francis is now serving
his second consecutive term as Executive Member of the JAAA Limited. He
previously served as the Director of the Youth Programme. He has been Chairman of
the JAAA Limited Road Race Committee since 2000,and is also a
member of the Youth Development Committee. He is Race Director of the
internationally recognized Reggae Marathon and all Jamdammers running
events. He was President of the Jamdammers Running Club between 1999
-2002. The Jamdammers are Jamaica's most famous road racing club.

CATHY RATTRAY-WILLIAMS
Co-opted Member –
Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association Limited
Principal of St. Hugh's
Preparatory School, Mrs. Rattray-Williams holds a Post graduate Degree
in Education.
A four time Olympian
1980 – 1992, Mrs. Rattray- Williams serves on the Website and the
Planning Committee of the National Championships.

GREGORY HAMILTON
Executive Member –
Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association Limited
Mr. Gregory Hamilton an
Electrical Contractor/Developer is the Managing Director of Roham and
Associates Limited.
Serving on the JAAA
Limited Executive for the first time, Mr. Hamilton's involvement in
track and field commenced in 1980 when he started officiating as a
'starter'. He is now a senior starter and officiates in all major meets
island-wide. His main responsibility on the Executive is that of Business
Development.

MR. DONALD QUARRIE
Executive Member –
Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association Limited
Mr. Donald Quarrie
possesses unique skills from which the JAAA Limited should derive
significant benefits.
He is an Olympic
gold medal winner with more than 20 years of active competition in
track and field, and more than 15 years of athletic consulting with
an emphasis on athlete and federation relationships, motivation of
individual athletes, sprint/running clinics, organizing
international track meets and personal training programmes.
Holder of a B.Sc in
Business and Public Administration from the University of Southern
California, Mr. Quarrie
was in year 2000 given Honourable mention in a Track & Field News at
listing of the Athletes of the Century for the 200 metres.
As a competitor, Mr.
Quarrie’s achievements include:
- 1 olympic
gold in 200m – 1976
- 2 olympic
silver medals (1 individual)
- 1 olympic
200m bronze medal
He was the first
male sprinter to make 5 Olympic teams and this he achieved between
years 1968 – 1984
In addition, he
mined 6 gold medals (5 individual) at the Commonwealth Games and 3
gold medals (2 individual) at the Pan American Games in 1971.
As an Administrator
and Coach, Mr. Quarrie’s achievement have also been impressive as
evidenced by: -
a) His being a
member of the IAAF Athletes Commission since 1996
b) His being a
member of the Advertising Commission since 1999
c) His being a
successful athletic and sprint Development Consultant since 1995
d) His success as a
personal coach to many outstanding track and field athletes,
includes USA sensation Coby Miller and a number of Olympic
Medallists such as Grace Jackson of Jamaica and Pauline Davis of
the Bahamas. He is sprint coach of St. Lucy’s Priory High School,
Glendora, California and a former sprint coach of the University of
Southern California.
The
sprinter, the Coach, the Meet Co-ordinator, the Marketing and
Events Consultant, Strategist and Thinker was awarded the ‘Order of
Distinction’ by the Jamaica Government in 1995. Such was his impact
on Jamaica’s Track and Field programme that in 1977 the Donald Quarrie High School was named in his honour, and a bronze statue was
in 1978 erected in his honour at Jamaica’s National Stadium.
His negotiating
skills and international experience should be of great benefit to
the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association Limited. |

MR.
BERTLAND CAMERON
Bertland Cameron,
Olympian of 1984 and 1988 joins the executive of the Jamaica Amateur
Athletic Association Limited for the first time.
The 1983 World
Championships 400m champion, and now the coach of Wolmers High
School Boys Track & Field team is looking forward to making a
significant contribution to Jamaica’s successful track and field
programme.
He believes his
academic training in Health and Physical Education from the
University of Texas, El Paso, his four year coaching stint at the
Northern Arizona University and the experience gained as an
outstanding track and field athlete, have equipped him to succeed at
the Executive level.
